I think the fella thought that 'to wind up' means 'to start up', e.g. to wind up a clockwork toy soldier.

But he didn't realize that 'wind up' is usually taken to mean 'to finish off' or 'to go out of business' in most contexts.

Wonder you guys seen this one yet, but this is yet another version of Gangnam Style, only thing, its parrot karaoke version.

The song is phenomenal for its spillover comic relief, and IMO rightly deserved the top spot in the music charts.

A very historical review on SG growth back in 1994 by an Econs prof called Paul Krugman.

“Singapore's growth has been based largely on onetime
changes in behavior that cannot be repeated.

employed has almost doubled; it cannot double
again. A half-educated work force has been replaced
by one in which the bulk of workers has high school
diplomas; it is unlikely that a generation from now

ridiculous. So one can immediately conclude that
Singapore is unlikely to achieve future growth rates

He's so wrong on almost all counts, but not for very favourable reasons.

It's getting old.

And the latest revelation about the dolphins? They were transported out of the Philippines while the court case was pending. I would've be surprised if RWS paid off people to give permits in spite of that and rush the move, but it makes me ashamed to be a Singaporean.
